Equinox Appoints New CEO
ALBANY, NY— Equinox is pleased to announce the appointment of Linda MacFarlane as its new CEO, effective April 21st, after the retirement of its current CEO John Henley.

In this role, Ms. MacFarlane will have 24/7 accountability for the agency’s emergent needs and to its regulatory agencies and grantors, and the oversight of Equinox’s programs and services. Her focus will be the day-to-day operations of Equinox as a stand-alone organization, as well as the smooth transition for its affiliation with Whitney Young Health.

Most recently, she was the Executive Director of the Community Loan Fund of the Capital Region, Inc., in Albany. Previously, Ms. McFarlane held executive leadership positions at the Albany Center for Economic Success, CU Analytics, LLC consulting company, and Columbia Greene Federal Credit Union.

Ms. MacFarlane served on Equinox’s Board of Directors, most recently as Vice Chair, for 20 years. She stepped down from the board in order to pursue the opportunity to lead Equinox as its CEO. Ms. MacFarlane has also served on various community boards including, but not limited to, Capital Region Economic Development Council, Community Development Alliance, Forum of Executive Women, Center for Advancement & Understanding of Social Enterprises (CAUSE), Capital District Youth Baseball & Softball Association, and Miss Shen Softball.

Ms. MacFarlane has also received special recognition awards and distinction, including New York State 2024 Trailblazer Economic Development Award; Albany Business Review 2022 Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Award; 2014 Bridges Out of Poverty Award; Credit Union Association of New York (CUANY) 2012 Professional of the Year Award; and Dale Carnegie Training, to name a few.
Ms. MacFarlane earned her MBA from University of Phoenix, and her BA in Economics and Mathematics from State University of New York at Albany.
