Due to COVID-19 Precautions & Mandates:

Our Mental Health Outpatient Clinic and Family Resources have transitioned to telehealth services. Prescribers, counselors or case managers have been in contact with patients to set up this option.

Our Health Homes Care Management has transitioned to telehealth services. Case managers have been in contact with patients to set up this option.

Our PROS program has reopened in-person! To protect our participants and staff from the spread of COVID-19, we are following strict guidelines, including: temperature taking, health screening, wearing masks, social distancing, staggered group times, and disinfecting facilities. We are happy to welcome back our PROS clients and provide in-person treatment and support.

The Equinox Family Resources Program – considered one of the best of its kind in
New York State – helps families come together to cope with the challenges of mental illness. This comprehensive program includes one-on-one meetings in our offices or in clients’ homes, multi-family group meetings, a 24-hour hotline, and referral services. Family Resources staff is available to answer questions and provide guidance in person, on the phone, by email, or through the mail.

Research shows that when a client’s family is involved in his or her recovery, clients experience fewer relapses and hospitalizations, take a more active role in their own treatment, and have much more success living independently.

Family members and friends also see immediate benefits: they learn to let go of the stress and anxiety of trying to manage their loved one’s mental illness, and instead are able to concentrate on providing support. When a family’s focus shifts toward problem-solving techniques and new coping strategies, a stressful situation becomes a constructive one for everyone involved.

The Equinox Family Resources Program is open to anyone who needs it, whether there is a family member receiving services at Equinox or not. And, we define “family member” to be relatives as well as friends and significant others. Anyone who cares is a family member in our eyes.
