Equinox CEO John Henley will be returning.

ALBANY, NY—Equinox CEO John Henley will be returning to retirement this spring with an anticipated date of April 1, 2025. Mr. Henley returned to Equinox in early 2024 with the intention of leading the organization for one final year, to guide the company during leadership transitions and to strengthen its affiliation with Whitney Young Health. Under his leadership, Equinox was able to take the next step in its partnership with Whitney Young Health, which included Equinox receiving approval from NYS OASAS (Office of Addiction Services and Support) to surrender its license for the Counseling Center for Substance Use Disorders and WYH being granted a license in August 2024 to operate the Counseling Center at Equinox’s main location at 500 Central Avenue in Albany.

Working alongside the Board of Directors and Leadership Team, Mr. Henley has better positioned Equinox for the affiliation and its future, leading Equinox in the direction for long-term success. With an established road to success, the next executive will be empowered to effectively lead Equinox through future endeavors.

A search committee, comprised of Equinox Board Members led by Board Chair Dennis McDonald, has commenced in the process to recruit a qualified replacement for Mr. Henley.
