“When I first started coming here I had a big chip on my shoulder, and I didn’t talk to anybody but the staff and my friend Al. As I spent more time at Equinox, I matured and started to feel like I belonged there. If it wasn’t for Equinox, I’d probably be where my old friends are: jail, dropouts, and potheads. Equinox has tremendously helped me change as a person. A year ago I barely talked to anybody, and now I am a peer educator, I help teach kids about safe sex. I’ve come a long way, and I continue to grow as a person, with the help of Equinox.”
