Volunteer

Volunteers have been at the heart of the Equinox community since we first opened our doors. We rely on that generous spirit of selfless giving and community engagement to fulfill our tradition of people helping people every day.

If you are looking for a rewarding and meaningful way to give of your time, we are always looking for volunteers to help!

Annual Thanksgiving Community Dinner

Help with preparation or delivery of 10,000 meals for our Capital Region neighbors who are homebound, lonely, or in difficult circumstances. Email our Thanksgiving Hotline at thotline@equinoxinc.org or call  (518) 434-0131 in October to see how you can get involved.

Mentoring

Journey (youth ages 13-17) and New Pathways (youth ages 18-24) Programs, which use a group mentoring approach, empower at-risk young people to make positive choices and reach their potential. Running from September through June, Journey Mentors work with students two Saturdays a month and New Pathways Mentors work with students every Monday throughout the school year and become trusted role models for the mentees.

Community Service Projects

Community service projects collecting needed items can be organized by businesses, associations, churches, schools and other groups. Individuals may also coordinate a drive and seek donations from friends, family or other affiliations. All donated items will help individuals and families in our local community. To find out what items are needed most at this time, please contact our development office at 518.434.6135 x5302.

Holiday Gift Drive - In December we collect toys, clothing, and other gifts for youth, and for individuals and families in our Domestic Violence Shelter and Programs.

Interested in helping? Call (518) 434-6135 x5302 or email development@equinoxinc.org
