Hands of Hope



Domestic Violence Services
Equinox is Albany County’s primary provider of services for victims of domestic violence. All services are confidential, free of charge, and available to all, regardless of gender, age, ethnicity, or sexual orientation.

Youth Services
Equinox youth program cover a full range of services, including street outreach, HIV/AIDS and drug education, counseling, referrals, and recreational activities. Equinox is Albany’s sole provider of emergency housing for runaway and homeless youth.

Counseling Center
Equinox Counseling Center is certified, licensed, and funded by the New York State Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services (OASAS) to provide outpatient substance abuse counseling. Equinox employs certified and Master’s level counselors who provide comprehensive treatment planning, case management, and counseling services.

Medical Exam Night
Medical Exam Night is offered free-of-charge to clients of Equinox's Domestic Violence Services, Counseling Services, and Youth Services. Staffed by volunteer physicians and medical students, along with key Equinox staff, it serves as a gateway, a safe and non-threatening way to enter the health care system for people who have been disenfranchised.
