Medical Exam Night is offered free-of-charge to clients of Equinox's Domestic Violence Services, Counseling Services, and Youth Services. Staffed by volunteer physicians and medical students, along with key Equinox staff, it serves as a gateway, a safe and non-threatening way to enter the health care system for people who have been disenfranchised.
The Community Services Center has dedicated space for Medical Exam Night where supplies, medicine samples, and medical records are secured.
The Counseling Center provides a medically supervised program, offering comprehensive treatment for clients in recovery from substance abuse.
For clients of Domestic Violence Services, Medical Exam Night offers women and their children access to care in a safe setting where they can engage with doctors and receive guidance regarding their needs.
Abused and neglected youth have higher than average physical needs, and traditional medical systems are often too complicated for youth to access. Clients of Youth Services receive treatment from doctors who take great care to help them feel comfortable and trusting. Medical Exam Night helps youth take the first step toward more complete medical care.
